According to the 2015American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS)Consumer Survey of Cosmetic Dermatology,a majority ofplastic surgery candidates share many ofthe same worries about their appearance.
The survey found that 88 percent of respondents considering a cosmetic surgery are bothered by excess weight, 72 percent are self-conscious of their skin texture or discoloration and 69 percent are most aware of the lines and wrinkles nearby and under the eyes. Of the 7,315 people who were polled, 3,596 respondents (49 percent)said they would consider having a cosmetic surgery performed.
In addition to these issues, many also indicated that they were bothered by the excess submental fat located underneath their chin. This area can be extremely hard to change, even with proper diet and exercise.
At Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists, we have a deepunderstanding of thebody imageissues you may be looking to change. We have many cosmeticprocedures available, both surgical and non-surgical, that can aid in your desire for change.
One of these is Botox. Botox injectionscan help treat a range of issues that plague patients as they age. These include prominent wrinkles in the forehead, small wrinkles around the eyes and fine lines around the mouth.
Another way to fight the signs of apparent facial aging is by having a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment. Both of these procedures are minimally invasive as well, treating fine lines, blemishes and harsh sun exposure.
Although the submental part of the face has long been an issue for many patients, an innovative new treatment is available. Kybella, recently approved by the FDA, treats excess fat and skin in the chin area, eliminating it with carefully placed injections.
