Marotta Medspa provides cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments for vein disease, which can eliminate a wide array of skin issues so that you’re left with nothing but even, clear, younger-looking skin.
Whether through genetics, exposure to sunlight or the natural aging process, skin is rarely as perfect as it appears on the covers of magazines or television. Makeup may be able to conceal your issue, but it doesn’t change the fact that when you look in the mirror after a shower or first thing in the morning, you may not be happy with your skin. No matter where on your body you’ve noticed the blemish, it can be extremely difficult to accept skin issues. So why should you?
The treatments we offer at Marotta Medspa on Long Island are designed to treat a variety of skin issues, including:
- Protruding or dilated veins around the eyes, temple or legs
- Spider veins (telengectasias) on the face, chest, neck, back, arms or legs
- Sunspots/sun damage.
Our experienced staff will evaluate your individual case and make a recommendation for a treatment plan customized to your desired results. Our goal is to provide you with the healthy, beautiful skin you’ve always dreamed of and help you feel confident in your skin every day.
We offer a variety of types of treatment for these conditions as well, and we’ll work with you to ensure that you’re comfortable and feel beautiful following your sessions.
Some of the types of vascular and rosacea treatments we provide include:
- Laser (Long Pulsed Nd:Yag)
- Laser Genesis
- Surgical Vein Removal

Protruding veins can be treated by injection with sclerotherapy (sclero – means hard). The injection solution is simply saline in concentrated amounts with a small amount of local anesthetic. As a result of the injection unsightly dilated blood vessels collapse and sclerose (harden then disappear).
What can our doctors treat with Sclerotherapy?
- Protruding or dilated veins around the eyes, temple, or legs
The solution is delivered by a very fine gauge needle. Pressure bandages are applied afterward to reduce the potential for bruising and swelling.
The vessel usually disappears immediately, but you may have some bruising and swelling at the injection site. The swelling dissipates over 24 hours. The bruising may take up to a week to disappear but can be easily covered with make-up.
Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
Intense Pulsed Light therapy is like a laser but instead of one wavelength, it uses the energy of many different wavelengths for treatment. At the Marotta MedSpa, we use the very latest in this technology – the Starlux from Palomar. The spectrum of energy delivered by the Starlux is ideally suited to treat the visible signs of aging in the skin like age spots, broken capillaries, and spider veins. Damaged cells that contain pigment and broken vessels are dissolved with light energy while the surrounding tissue is left unharmed.
See palomarmedical.com for more information on the Starlux and the RejuveLux treatment.
What can we treat with IPL?
- Sunspots/sun damage
- Spider veins or telangiectasias
- Treatment areas include the face (photofacial), neck, chest, arms, back or legs
The treatment handpiece is passed over the area to be treated and pulses of light energy are delivered. The treatment pulse is signaled by a tone and a flash of light. There is minimal to no pain. The treatment handpiece has a cooling head which is applied to the skin before and after the pulse.
Immediately after the treatment, you may feel a mild sunburn-like sensation. Occasionally, you may have minor swelling which can last from 2-24 hours. Cooling is used to minimize the potential for swelling. You may return to regular activities and work without any downtime. If sunspots were treated, they will darken and fall off within 1 week. For Rosacea, skin tone will have less pronounced redness within 1 week. Vessels may disappear or darken after treatment and completely or partially fade within 10 days. Several treatments are usually required for complete clearance of these problems.
