Radiesse®

At Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists in Long Island, we are proud to offer Radiesse® injections among our many non-invasive facial treatments.

Radiesse® is an injectable implant that is used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth or to improve facial contours that have altered with age. It is one of the best non-surgical forms of facial rejuvenation available today and is capable of producing a remarkable improvement in your appearance with no downtime.

What is Radiesse® and how does it work?
Radiesse® consists of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier (made of water, glycerin and carboxymethylcellulose). Calcium hydroxylapatite is a mineral component of bone and has been used by Long Island plastic surgeons in the repair of both hard and soft tissue for many years. Radiesse® is a soft substance and is completely biodegradable, and its effects of Radiesse® last about a year.

What are the benefits of Radiesse® treatments at Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists?
At Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists,Our Long Island Cosmetic Surgeons typically administers Radiesse to achieve the following:

  • Augment cheeks
  • Improve facial contour by filling in depressions or hollow areas
  • Reduce melolabial folds (lines that extend from the corners of the mouth to the sides of the chin)
  • Reduce nasolabial folds (lines that extend from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth).

What to expect during your Radiesse® treatment at Marotta Plastic Surgery Specialists
During your treatment, our injectable experts will inject Radiesse® into the designated area with a very fine needle. Topical anesthetics, ice, or local anesthetics can be used to make sure you feel minimal discomfort. We inject very small amounts at a time to ensure a smooth and even distribution and optimal anti-aging results.

Immediately following the injection, your Long Island cosmetic surgeon will place an ice pack on your face to soothe the skin and minimize any bruising or swelling. You may have some redness or swelling at the injection site, but this typically dissipates quickly. Most of our Long Island patients return to work following the procedure. The improvement in your appearance is immediate and will last up to a year.
