Male plastic surgery trends show more men making cosmetic changes or researching the possibility of refreshing their appearance than ever before.
Manscaping tops the list of procedures, both invasive and minimally invasive, that men are seeking out. Skin care health is on the rise too, with more men taking an active role in their personal appearance.
A recent study conducted by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery found that men underwent more than 1 million non-surgical procedures in 2014, including Botox injections, photo rejuvenation and fat reduction.
Men seek out these surgeries for different reasons, including a desire to appear more masculine or to appear young and relevant in the job market. With Millennials entering the workforce in droves, older Gen Xers and Baby Boomers looking to stay competitive with these younger men may begin investing into methods for rejuvenating their own appearance and maintaining a professional edge.
Some experts believe that men, unlike women, choose to make more cosmetic changes at once in order to lessen their amount of time in a procedure chair. At the same time, though, men still want to retain some of their wrinkles or noticeable signs of aging, as it gives them their own edge in making them appear distinguished and experienced.
In addition, some men elect to undergo skin tightening and dermal fillers, to reduce jowls and build onto the chin, areas that are known to exude masculinity.
