Stephanie Rice, a three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer, recently posted a glamorous picture on Instagram and opened up about her cosmetic surgery procedure. The 26-year-old received rhinoplasty a year ago, and said she is extremely pleased with the rhinoplasty results and saw no reason to conceal the fact that she had an operation.
In fact, she wrote on Instagram that she is happy she's able to act as an example of an empowered woman who can make her own choices, and she loves guiding other people through the process of considering cosmetic surgery. She said she receives an email every few weeks asking who her surgeon was, and appreciates being able to talk to people who are at the same point in their lives that she was pre-surgery.
"Seeing the better version of my nose made me realize how much it had been affecting me," she told Who magazine in 2014. "Everyone will have an opinion, and what I've learnt over the years is that you can't do things to please people. I love the result."
Stephanie said that she had always been self-conscious about her nose, and that the rhinoplasty increased her confidence. She also said it has taught her not to listen to the critics, and that the most important thing is what you want to do for yourself.
