Hair transplantation can restore natural hair to the hairline, top of the head or crown. Dr. Marotta performs hair replacement procedures through Follicular Unit Transplantation, achieving the most natural results for his patients by transplanting one hair follicle at a time, as opposed to two or three. This eliminates the possibility of a “clumped” appearance, instead creating a desirable, natural look.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Marotta is actively involved in teaching and training other physicians and holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook. He also has hospital privileges at St. Catherine of Siena in Smithtown.
Dr. Marotta has achieved a medical doctorate with distinction in research and has published several scientific articles, including articles on revision rhinoplasty and the midface lift. He continues to conduct research and write medical manuscripts. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). Dr. Marotta regularly attends medical conferences to stay abreast of the latest advances in his field.
As a physician, Dr. Marotta feels a deep sense of responsibility to devote time to humanitarian causes. Dr. Marotta was a member of a reconstructive surgical team that traveled to Ecuador to perform microtia surgery to construct ears for children born with little or no external ear.
Through the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery’s FACE to FACE programs, Dr. Marotta volunteers his time and surgical expertise to help victims of domestic abuse with facial injuries as well as veterans who were deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan and received face or neck injuries.
